You pay your developer, pay your host … now you can pay Google to redo it all – their way!

A new service called “Google Page Speed Service” analyzes your webpage performance and rewrites developers hard work to make pages load faster for users.

Google will be charging in the future for this service but claims it will improve speeds from 25 to 60 percent and although it’s free to signup, beta spots are limited.

Is it time to fire your developer?

A. Not yet, you still need the crappy coding to start with.

Is it wrong for Google to charge rent for a home(page) you own?

A. Hell yeah!  But odds are I’ll shell out the dough.  Prices are TBD – begging Google to be gentle.
